Since the
transmitter in Arusha had been returned by the person,
who stole it, many people have asked why we can not set
it up in Tanga town. Everything
was ready to be set up on Christmas 2003, but we did not
get the permission from the state agency. Now in September 2004 came the
permission in case we pay the licence fee of 1.4 mio. Tsh.
The partner congregation in Germany agreed to take this
part. Now we see how fast it will be possible to get the
frequency assignment. Since the Bishop advised us to set
it up at the Kisosora congregation we brought the
transmitter hut to Tanga as well. All sections of the 24
m tower had been waiting there already in Mbuyukenda
since months, The building committee of the
congregation agreed on a location between the church and
the pastors house, since the antenna mast will not
interfere with future building activates there. We got a big help from Samueli and
his masonry fundi to pour the concrete in the holes of
the foundation of the antenna mast and its pegs. The transmitter hut needs a brick
wall to surround it to make it more secure. Samueli and
the masonry fundi will finish it these days, and give it
the same finish as the church. As soon as we have the frequency
assignment we want to set up the antenna mast and the
antennas, to be on air as soon as possible.
